still trying to determine exactly what happened. they're not sure what if any thing provoked the attack. sirens alerted a baltimore county councilman of something was happening near his home. >> i was working on my computer and my wife says you better go see what is going on. >> still under investigation as a police-involved shooting at the shopping center in randallstown. police say an officer responded to a collar around 7:45 and monday morning about a suspicious man. they say the man parked his suv at the front of the shopping center. >> the subject appeared to be emotionally disturbed. >> after the first patrol car arrived, the man began attacking the officer. they say the officer used his patrol car door to push the man away. >> there was a struggle over the

officer's weapon, at which time a second officer pulled up to this team, observed what was going on and shot the suspect in the chest two times. >> the shopping center remain closed as police tried to sort out what happened. the officers are now on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. store managers and business owners were shocked. >> its life and things happen, but there's no area where there's not going to be any crime. we're not going to change anything. we're going to keep doing what we have been doing. >> so far, police have not release the identity of the man tried they say he is in critical but stable condition at shock trauma. >> tonight, a baltimore teenager is behind bars charged in a deadly shooting last month. according to police, the 70- rolled was one of three suspects

to approach a 30-year-old as he sat in his car in brooklyn park. detectives believe hill tried to drive off and he was shot. baltimore city police have identified a man who was shot in west baltimore. they say he was shot around the clock on baker street and later died in shock trauma. no word on a suspect or possible motive. >> people in college park are on edge after a second week with a string of robberies. the victims are being attacked by group with the latest incident on saturday morning when a student was walking along hartwig road. the victim said he was approached by four individuals, tackled and robbed. >> we encourage people traveling late at night or early in the morning to try to travel in pairs to let people know where you are going.

>> please have launched a campaign of the dangers between 2:00 and 4:00 in the morning. a construction worker is recovering after nearly being buried alive on the job. a six-foot trench partially collapsed on a man working in district heights yesterday afternoon. co-workers managed to dig him out so that his body was free but it took several firefighters to get him completely free. >> the attorney general is warning candidates and their supporters about campaign literature. he says his officer has seen handouts' falsely implying endorsements by state and local leaders. there have been incidents of fraudulent and inaccurate voter guides. he says all complaints will be fully investigated. campaign sign vandalism is also being investigated.

one candidate says some used a box there to cut up her campaign signs. >> it a malicious act. signs are part of the democratic process. part of that is getting a recognition and it is distressing that people would go to this length. >> she says the science should encourage people to get out and vote and replacing them will be difficult. >> the race for governor is in full swing with the first at from the republican challenger and former governor, bob ehrlich, out now. it hit the air this weekend. >> in his first television ad in his race to get his old job back, republican bob ehrlich reintroduce himself to maryland voters. >> i'm not the kind of guy who likes to hang on the sidelines.

>> some highway heroics in georgia, on a share of some- camera. they saw a car completely engulfed in flames. the deputies jumped into action. despite explosions, they were able to play 56-year-old man out of the car alive. he remains in hospital tonight. they say all good things must come to an end and that is the case for the maryland state fair. >> today is the last day of the 11 best days of summer. officials say it was a very good year. >> this is the 129th maryland state fair and officials say it has been a good one. >> the crowd came out for the last day. before noon it was already crowded. the manager says it has been a good run this year. >> we are running a little bit ahead.

it was not associated with the tropical system. here are the morning lows we saw across the state. just west of deep creek lake -- deep creek lake, all in the low 40's. unofficial upper '30's reported in some spots out west. westminster up to york and lancaster in the '40's. low 50s were common in some areas of the eastern shore. even ocean city had a cool morning. sunshine and warmer with low 80s, and around the baltimore area. the winds turning to the south today, bringing in more moisture in the atmosphere will not see the wide range of temperatures. probably not as cool tonight as last night. showers around pennsylvania with light rain.

the normal low as 60. we will be around that for the overall low tonight. the much-needed rain is not coming into the picture yet, but this system might drag a friend through with a chance for a sprinkle on wednesday morning. tomorrow, a lot of sunshine with the front reaching ohio, crossing the mountains and falling apart, delivering a sprinkle wednesday morning before it moves off the coast. the dry and cool weather returns for the second half of the work week. warm tomorrow and humid, we may hit 90 in some spots. a small craft advisory is expected tomorrow afternoon. 81 and the sunshine tomorrow. upper 80s to near 90 degrees. the lower eastern shore, if you could stretch out your labor day, it will be beautiful down

there. the remnants of that storm are working their way toward the caribbean. but more importantly, it is a tropical storm hermine in the gulf of months ago. it looks like a threat to taxes. does not have a chance to really get going. it is within 100 miles of ground sell. it will fall apart as it makes its way into the plains state. much more of the same and warmer and a little more humid. the front arrives with a 20% chance of a sprinkle. we will have lows back down in the '50s. >> of the raven's face the jets in the season opener one week from tonight.

they will see the quarterback, agreeing to a four-year deal. and they will have a new receiver when they square off against jets. they signed t.j. houshmandzadeh and traded mark clayton to save lives. one day after seattle released them, the former bengals receiver falls into the raven's hands at huge discounts. seattle gets stuck with the rest. houshmandzadeh gives the raven's a big target and dependable hands. he spent the first eight years of his career with the bengals. make room for houshmandzadeh, mark clayton was traded to st. louis. a former first-round draft pick, he had a career low 34 receptions and only one catch in two playoff games.
